Taylor graciously let us stay with her for a week while we were here. Staying with her was a huge blessing because finding a hotel for a week in NYC can set you back quite a bit and with the move coming we didn't want to spend a ton of money. And it was fun to get to know her better (for me since I had only met her at our wedding and one other time :). She graciously showed us around the city, helped us purchase our Metro Cards (the cards for the subway and bus system), taught us how to read a subway map, ride the subway, get off the subway and keep moving (lest someone yell at you because you are reading the signs), walk quickly, and ride the bus. She even came with us on her day off to look for an apartment. It was a really fun week and a great start to a friendship for us! Now we try to get together about once a week to two weeks. If I go longer than 2 weeks without seeing her my life feels a little emptier :)
So here are some highlights from my first NYC experience and Gabe's second time here (he was here in high school). I just realized that we didn't take any pictures of any of the food we ate which is a bummer because we ate a ton of good food including sushi, Indian, Cuban, burgers and shakes, almonds from a street vendor :)
