So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was
lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word
concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard
it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up
all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds
returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard
and seen, which were just as they had been told.
2014 has been quite the year for us! Our highlight was that Micah Gabriel was born on January 5th, 2014. Our lives have changed quite a bit since the little man entered our world! He is an absolute delight! He is an easy going, social, smiley little guy who melts our hearts. It has been so fun to watch him grow and learn. He is currently working towards walking - cruising along furniture, pulling himself up to stand anytime there is furniture or a person around for him to steady himself on. He loves to "talk" with his favorite words being "dada" "mama" and many other secret code words that we have yet to figure out. He loves bath time, looking out the window, being outside, going on stroller rides, giggling, being tickled, playing with any ball or car, and eating.
Gabe is currently in his 2nd year of residency. He works A LOT, usually 80 hours a week. He is enjoying learning more about OB/GYN and really likes being in the operating room. When he's not at work he can usually be found on the couch sleeping or playing with Micah.
I'm working per dium at a local hospital in their inpatient rehab unit. I like the flexibility of being able to work a couple days a week and also stay home with Micah. My "spare" time is spent, oh wait, I don't really have spare time with Micah around. I would like to start sewing again and maybe read a book or two. Recently I started volunteering at church in the nursery and with a ministry through our church called Mommy AND Me. So between Micah, making sure we have clean clothes and a hot meal and work I don't have much time for blogging but I'm going to try to keep up a little better this coming year!
This past year we had the pleasure of taking a two week trip back to the Midwest in March/April to see our families and introduce Micah to everyone.
We took our first family vacation to Maine the last week of September. It was beautiful and we would love to go back! It was so nice to get away from the busyness of the city and relax and eat delicious seafood!
My folks came to visit us over Thanksgiving and we went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and to the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular! It was so wonderful to have them!
We are excited that Gabe's folks get to come and spend Christmas through New Years with us this year! Its so nice to have family who is willing to travel!
We are continuing to adjust to life in the big city and east coast living. It is easier now that we have a church family and know our way around the area a little better. We still miss the Midwest and being close enough to participate in family activities, Lord willing we will be closer some day!
