We started our week with a trip to Pittsburgh to visit dear friends the Moore's and the Zdeneks. Seems like our trip revolved mostly around food so Pittsburgh involved a noodle place, DeLucca's for breakfast, and a massive (like 34 ounce) ribeye for two for supper. The best part about supper was that Colin and Nicole were kind enough to watch Micah so Gabe and I could go on a double date with Ashley and Kyle and actually eat our meal without worrying about the table cloth being pulled off, silverware on the floor, our food getting cold before eating it - you know all those parent things!

We then headed North to Ogunquit, Maine. It was a lovely little town. Our hotel was 3 blocks from the beach. The beach was lovely! The sand was so soft it squeeked when you walked on it. The water was ice cold so we only dipped our toes in, but it was wonderful to walk along the shoreline. We went on a lobstering tour one morning. It was wonderful to see all the beautiful houses along the shoreline on the way out to the lobster traps. It was really neat to learn about lobstering. There are lots of rules in order to ensure the lobster population doesn't become over fished (or over lobstered, whatever you call it). It was neat to see them pull up the traps and get the lobster out and other creatures that also made themselves at home. The rocking of the boat made Micah fall asleep, he tried to stay awake but he couldn't fight it by the end. We enjoyed wandering around the town looking at the little shops, eating lobster, and also going along a walkway called the Marginal Way. Its a coastline walk a little over a mile. Great views of the ocean and great views of all the fancy houses with ocean views!

We took a day trip to Portland, Maine. It was fun to see where the cruise ships docked and of course eat more seafood. We walked around and looked at lots of interesting shops. My favorite was a store that made purses and bags out of old sails. I loved the look of them but the price was a little steep so I just looked :)

On our way home the last day we stopped at a lighthouse. It was beautiful to see. We then ate more seafood, we wanted to take full advantage of the fresh seafood :)

Then we had the pleasure of tons of traffic for the drive home. Kind of a bummer of an end to the vacation but when you live in a city with 8.4 million of your best friends I guess its bound to happen!
All in all it was a great vacation and we look forward to seeing more of Maine someday!
